One week to go...

Here we are - one week to lift off and the stress has kicked in.

I think most of it is the stress of the unknown. As I've said before, none of us have ever been out of the country and with all the travel requirements in place, we're struggling with what we can and can't take; should or shouldn't take; etc.

Everything else is going well.
The lock-in last weekend was a huge success! We had a lot of kids and tons of fun!
The numbers aren't in yet, so we're still not sure what we raised, but I'm estimating $400 for Africa.

Thank you all so much for your prayers through this adventure. The kids, adults, and leaders of the village in Cyanika will be unbelievably blessed because of your commitment and support.
We are humbled by your love and continued encouragement through this time.

Prayer Requests and Updates

  • Health - I can't ask for this enough and those of you who have known us for any amount of time know why. Please pray that the Lord would put us in a protective bubble right now and keep us there until we return.

  • Details & Stress - As I mentioned above, it seems like the small details are just piling up on us. No matter how we've prepared, we can't help but be overwhelmed. Like many families, the higher the stress level the more irritable we are. Unfortunately, we've been taking some of it out on each other. We know it will be easier when it's done and we're on our way, but we don't want this last week to be an episode of Survivor either.
  • Finances - The shots came to a lot more than we had planned on spending. I will be talking to a few people about support and joining us on this journey. Please pray that God would lead us to the right people that would like to be a part of this adventure.
  • Through the business one thing in particular has been difficult to find time to do... our time with God. Please pray that He will reveal to us time to take breaks and be with Him. Above all, we know that this mission trip as well as everything else in our lives is nothing without Him. God has made that very clear to me lately through the book of Ecclesiastes.

Through praying, we know that sometimes God will reveal something to you - either with a word, or through a picture. If you experience that, we would love to hear about it. Please feel free to share it with us.

You can email us in one of two ways:

As always, if you have prayer requests, we would love to be praying for you as well.
