A few weeks ago Nikki (one of our children's leaders extraordinaire) had mentioned that the soccer league her girls are in may have a lot of uniforms they don't need anymore.
It turns out the entire league is changing the colors of their uniforms. So she went and talked to the board and they have agreed to give her access to whatever she needs to coordinate getting the old uniforms for the kids in Rwanda. This could mean literally over 1,000 uniforms! How incredible is that?!?
They will also be collecting shoes and any other gear that people would like to give.
We are overwhelmed with the response!
Nikki also talked to the local sports shop that all the players use. It turns out they also have several hundred uniforms and a several cases of cleats! How crazy is that?!?
For funding - There were two large donations from places we never expected to see them. One was from a local non-profit and another from a local company.
God truly has us all on an amazing ride. Thank you for being a part of it. If it weren't for your prayers, I guarantee those things never would have happened.

New Date
Because of the Swine Flu our trip has been postponed.
Right now, we are looking at mid-July.
We would love your prayers for some issues concerning this.
These are big things, but we've seen God overcome them in amazing ways.
We have had some amazing things happen!
I'm going to post these in a separate thread. That way I can keep them together with the tags.
Be sure to check them out. It's really amazing!
Just one quick thing before I post this:
I don't ever want anyone to think that when we post asking for prayer for finances that we are asking you to give or give more. We serve a big God. One that has answered us time and time again. We've seen Him move mountains and show up in ways that we never expected.
That's what we are looking for... surprises! He has them and He has the resources. This is what we are asking you to pray for. God has made it abundantly clear to His people that He is always listening and will answer prayer.

- The airline will be lenient with the charges because the change is out of our hands
- That we will find tickets that are the same price as when we originally booked, so we do not have to pay the difference
- Funding - we are 75% there (if the airline doesn't charge more)

Welcome and Thank you
We want to begin by thanking you for partnering with us in this new adventure God has us on.
I've never been sure how we, personally, fit into God's Missions outside of the church and I definitely didn't see us doing anything with sports, so your support and prayers mean more to us than you could ever possibly know.
As we begin to step into this process I desperately want you to realize how important your requests to the Father on our behalf are. God has made it abundantly clear that prayer is the most important part of anything we do and this is no exception to that rule. Kingdom's rise and fall as well as mountains moved with this six letter word. We cannot do this alone. Each person in our family is honored and humbled that you have joined with us in this journey to help the kids and this community that is halfway across the globe.
Whether you are praying for us or have sent in support - we really could not be embarking on this without you. You are an integral part of this process and for that we are honored and humbled that you have chosen to be a part of what God is doing.
Update
We found out today that there is a 95% chance we will have to postpone our trip.
This has been a well thought through and difficult decision which, fortunately, we didn't have to make. The government in Rwanda is concerned about the possibility of us bringing in the Swine Flu.
For all of us that are state-side, it may not seem like a big deal as more people get sick and die with the regular flu than what we are seeing with H1N1. But for those in Africa that are ou of reach of proper medical facilities the thought of a new virus feels like a death sentence.
The good news is that we are only postponing the trip for a few months. It looks like we will now be going in the time frame of July/August.

God also brought about a new possibility as well. There is an entire league here in Colorado that is changing out their uniforms and will be getting rid of the ones they are using now (something about changing the colors). A friend here told them what we are doing and they are interested in donating all of the old colors. That's about 1,000 uniforms!
We also had a couple of people approach us and let us know that their companies want to be involved in SCORE!

In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ~ Philippians 4:6

- God has been sending people and resources to help accomplish His plans for Cyanika.

Prayer Requests
- That God would help us find favor with the airlines and that they will possibly be lenient on the fee for changing our tickets.
- That the people of Cyanika would understand our dilemma and continue to look to the future.
- Stress - As with everyone's life there is so much going on right now. Unfortunately, it hasn't always brought out the best of us with each other. We would love your prayers for God to help us be more understanding with each other.
- Pray for the other members of our team. One of the women will not be able to go at all now. She works in an ER and cannot rearrange the schedule that was set. Please pray for her as I know this is very disappointing.
- Support - We are about 65% of the way there.
- God will lead us in making the right connections to help get shoes and equipment for these kids.
- That through this process we will be drawn closer to Him not only personally, but also as a family.
